FAMILIES EXPERIENCE EXCELLENCE AT GOLDEN RULE FUNERAL HOMES

February 17, 2016– Austin, TX – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) released its first End-of-Year Report through its Family Contact Program since launching the updated program in June. The results reflect 6 months of data, and the enrolled funeral homes represent a third of OGR’s membership. The overall performance of the participating Golden Rule funeral homes was ranked highly among the families who responded to the survey with 96% of the respondents indicating that they would recommend the funeral home to others.

The top three reasons that respondents chose the funeral home were: Previously served our family, Attended a non-family funeral here in the past, and Personally know the owner or staff. This data indicates that community outreach and good first impressions with families and guests are important business aspects that Golden Rule Funeral Homes continue to exercise.

The report also revealed a notable interest in pre-planning and aftercare programs from families. The top three areas of funeral service that families are most interested in knowing more about are: Planning funerals in advance, Financing funerals in advance and Grief services or support groups.

OGR Executive Director & CEO Mark Allen says, “OGR is currently developing innovative new services to help Golden Rule Funeral Homes respond appropriately to families’ requests. The update and expansion of the Family Contact Program has brought our members more valuable information that will secure the quality of their business.  These findings will allow members to better serve families in their communities.”

The Family Contact Program is an exclusive OGR member benefit. For more information, visit www.ogr.org/family-contact.
