OGR was founded 80 years ago by leading funeral professionals who wanted to help the public by providing reliable funeral homes. Their goal was to clearly define quality, service and high ethical standards. With this common mission, they launched The International Order of the Golden Rule.

Today, that same commitment to quality, compassion, service and high ethical standards marks the excellence of independent, family-owned, locally-owned Golden Rule funeral homes. Members adhere to a basic set of principles that guide their practices with "service measured not by gold, but by the Golden Rule."
