After attending the brand new opening session "Unplugged and Uncorked" at 4:00 p.m., walk with friends to dinner in Colonial WilliamsburgOGR has made restaurant reservations at six restaurants; each guest will be responsible for paying for his/her meal and will be able to order from the full restaurant menu. Dine Arounds restaurants are within walking distance of the host hotel the Williamsburg Lodge. From a brewery to a colonial chophouse and lots of options in between, you have a variety of choices to choose from. As part of the opening session, OGR will recognize funeral homes for their years of membership with OGR. Recipients celebrating milestone years of membership with OGR will receive their Golden Rule Funeral Home plaques and certificates, a press release, and a professional photograph.


Celebratory Luncheon & Board Installation - A Historic Moment!

At this year's luncheon, OGR will install the 2019-2020 Board of Directors and this year's president. Then, celebrate all the good YOU accomplished in 2018. OGR's Community Service Award and Exemplary Service Awards will be given to firms for all their incredible work last year. The Foundation's Awards of Excellence Scholarship will also be awarded to THREE worthy students who've demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and working for an independent funeral home. We will conclude the luncheon by recognizing the individual receiving the Golden Light Award for a lifetime contribution to funeral service. This year’s kickoff event with Supply Partners will take place on the second evening and will feature drinks at the Rockefeller Complex, a historic home across from the lodge, followed by dinner at Shields Tavern, which offers a cosmopolitan look of the British colonies. Tickets can be bought just for this event or for the entire conference. Register today.

Join Thomas Jefferson, the Marquis de Lafayette, and other esteemed guests for a historic closing party you won’t want to miss. Held at the luxurious Williamsburg Inn, this will be an evening of elegance, charm, and a walk back in time. Formal attire or period costumes encouraged.

Williamsburg Winery Tour

Take a tour of the Williamsburg Winery
, located on a three-hundred-acre plantation bordering the College of William & Mary and the James River. This excursion includes transportation from the lodge to the winery, a guided tour of the barrel cellar and production area, and a tasting of seven wines in a private room. Following the wine tasting, the group will be escorted to Gabriel Archer Tavern for lunch.
Cost: $107/person includes transportation, tour, lunch, and sales tax (per person price based on a minimum of 20 people.)
