Austin, Texas, April 16, 2018 – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) presented the Exemplary Service Award to Davenport Family Funeral Homes and Crematory of Barrington, IL  at OGR’s 2018 Annual Conference and Solution Center in Savannah, GA on April 6. OGR’s Exemplary Service Award recognizes member firms for the outstanding customer service they provided to families during their time of loss.

Exemplary Service Awards recognize professional excellence as demonstrated through comments from client families served who respond to OGR’s Family Contact Program surveys. One family Davenport Funeral Home helped shared the following:

“I can't say enough good things about how your staff walked us through the process from start to finish in the most exceptional way. Your funeral director Kelly was absolutely outstanding in taking care of all of our needs—the ones we were aware of as well as ones we may have overlooked. I was amazed at the poise and grace she has as well as the insight and strength she displayed at such a young age in this industry. She was warm and personable and was able to guide us through the process and make the experience something I can remember in a positive way. I expected to bring in and arrange my husband's pictures and memories, but the staff and Kelly took that off my hands and did a fabulous job of "decorating" the room and showcasing our life together. The staff also went above and beyond and took several trips from place to place with our flowers and, on my request, brought them all back to our home. It was not a week or so later that I had to visit the funeral home once again for a former colleague of mine that had passed away. I have to say, that because of the positive experience I had with my husband's funeral, I did not fear or have any hesitation in going. You made it feel like a loving and safe place.”
