The Independent® is published by the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR). Each edition features bylined articles addressing key issues facing the independent funeral home, as well as news about OGR programs and activities, member benefits and more.
The Independent® Brief has been discontinued, yet going forward its content will be disseminated to members through E-facts and All Member Email.

Resource Guide
OGR's annual Resource Guide is produced as a reference and networking tool to keep members in touch and informed about their many benefits, programs and services.
In addition to the Membership Roster, the book catalogs association activities; products and services available from OGR's Golden Services Group co-op buying program; leadership and committee listings; plus other information pertinent to getting the most from their dues dollar.

Submissions
Editorial submissions and letters to the editor are invited. Members are encouraged to submit news about their funeral homes, honors received or community involvement activities.
Contributed articles should be 750-2,500 words long. Articles should not be self-promotional but should be of interest to the funeral profession and/or death care profession. Accompanying photos, graphics/charts or other artwork are appreciated and will be used as space allows. OGR reserves the right to edit all submitted materials for clarity, appropriateness and space limitations, adhering to Associated Press style. OGR does not assume responsibility for unsolicited materials. Published articles reflect the opinions of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of OGR.
