Care Card Program

The Care Card Program helps your funeral home maintain contact with families you’ve served by providing helpful information relating to grief recovery. The program is made up of professional sympathy cards (Care Cards) and 2-sided grief recovery inserts (Care Inserts) created by OGR that can be personalized with your signature, funeral home's logo and contact information. OGR will schedule and mail sets of the care cards and inserts to enrolled families throughout the year following a funeral.

The Care Card Program gives you an opportunity to continue to serve families after the funeral is done, and encourages families to keep in contact with your funeral home. It is a great way for your funeral home to build stronger relationships with the families that you serve, so that they will continue to turn to your funeral home when the time comes. Families will appreciate the gesture and it requires no time and effort on the part of your funeral home. OGR handles it all for you.

How does it work?

After you complete a funeral service for a family, you can enroll them in OGR’s Care Card Program. Throughout the year, OGR will send the enrolled family sympathy cards (Care Cards) and grief recovery information (2-sided Care Inserts) on behalf of your funeral home in accordance to a set mailing schedule that will last for the duration of 1 year. The materials will be personalized with the your signature, funeral home logo and contact information.  If you participate in OGR’s Family Contact Program, OGR will mail out your Family Contact survey to the enrolled family as well. Below is the mailing schedule for the program:

Schedule (OGR members): 5 mailings per year for $20 per family

Schedule (OGR members who participate in the Family Contact Program): 6 mailings per year for $20 per family

Why Should I Sign Up for OGR's Care Card Program?

  1. Families will love the Care Inserts. The 2-sided Care Inserts provide families with helpful information about grief recovery. The topics range from practical suggestions that help people cope with grief to information about common experiences they might go through while dealing with their loss. The Care Inserts are a free benefit of the program and accompany the Care Cards in each mailing.
  2. You get more for your money. OGR's Care Card Program includes more materials than other follow-up services. It comes with 5 card mailings; each with 1 Care Card and 1 Care Insert, and, as an added bonus, we will send out an optional 6th mailing, OGR's professional Family Contact survey, on your funeral home's behalf at no extra charge.
  3. It helps you maintain relationships with families. The Care Card Program was created to give your funeral home the opportunity to continue to serve families after the funeral is done and to help insure that families will continue to turn to your funeral home when the time comes.
  4. OGR handles it all for you. Families will appreciate you following up with them, and it requires no time and effort on the part of your funeral home.

How do I sign up a family? 

CLICK HERE and fill out an online order form. You will need to enter your contact information and credit card info to complete your order. If you would like your funeral home’s logo included on the materials at no extra charge, please be sure to upload it as a PNG (preferred) or JPEG file before completing the online order form or you can email your funeral home's logo to OGR. You can also upload or email any signatures (as a JPEG or PNG file) that you would like to include on the cards. If you do not have a signature image, OGR can create a signature for you using an already made font. Be sure to include the following information when you enroll a family: deceased’s name, date of birth, date of death, date of service and the primary family contact’s name and mailing address.

How do I make my signature into an image?

You do not have to make your signature into an image in order to use the program. OGR can create a signature for you using an already made font, but if you want to use your own personal signature you can send it to us through the following ways:

Option 1: Use a Scanner

  1. Write your signature in large font on a piece of paper using very dark ink (keep your signature at a straight angle)
  2. Scan the page and save it on your computer in a common file format: .jpg or .png
  3. Upload image when filling out the online form or email it to OGR.

Option 2: Take a Photo

  1. Write your signature in large font on a piece of paper using very dark ink (keep your signature at a straight angle)
  2. Take a photo of your signature using your phone and make sure the photo is a close-up of your signature
  3. Upload it to the form or email it to OGR.

Option 3: Send a Fax

  1. Write your signature in large font on a piece of paper using very dark ink (keep your signature at a straight angle)
  2. Fax the page to OGR at 512-334-5514
  3. OGR will scan it and create a signature image

What if I want to send out the cards myself?

Purchase a Care Card Pack and follow OGR's suggested timeline for sending out the cards or make a timeline of your own. A Care Card Pack will serve 10 families; it includes 10 of each type of card (50 cards), 10 of each insert (50 inserts) and 50 envelopes.
