Future Leaders at OGR

OGR understands that the future of the funeral profession rests in the hands of the next generation of funeral directors. For that reason, OGR is working tirelessly to ensure that emerging professionals are prepared with the tools, knowledge, connections, and resources that they need to build meaningful, successful careers in funeral service.

How does OGR support Future Leaders?

OGR Membership for Future Leaders

OGR Future Leaders are members who are not yet in primary decision-making roles at their funeral homes, regardless of age. Whether you are just starting out in the funeral service, you're starting a second career, or have been employed at a funeral home for 20+ years, this group is for you.

Future Leaders can access a variety of educational and leadership opportunities with OGR such as serving on the Future Leaders Committee, attending the annual Future Leaders Forum, contributing to OGR publications such as the blog and magazine, or taking advantage of year-round education such as OGR's webinar series

Mortuary Students

OGR also offers membership options for mortuary students. Student members are invited to participate in all member activities, including webinars, gain access to all digital member resources with OGR, receive a subscription to OGR's magazine and newsletter, get advanced notice and discounts on registration to PROGRESS and the Future Leaders Forum. Student memberships are affordable at $35 per year, and you can apply online.

Rising Star Award

Starting in 2025, OGR will proudly present the Rising Star Award, recognizing early-career professionals who demonstrate exceptional promise, leadership, and dedication within the funeral profession. This award celebrates the next generation of funeral professionals who are shaping the future of our profession through innovation, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.
