PETER “SKIP” URBAN INSTALLED AS OGR PRESIDENT-ELECT
AUSTIN, TEXAS, APRIL 28, 2015 – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), the world’s leading professional association dedicated to making independent funeral homes exceptional, installed Peter ‘Skip’ Urban, president of the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, Ambler, PA as 2015-2016 president-elect. He was sworn in during the OGR 2015 Annual Conference and Supplier Showcase at the Marriott World Center in Orlando, FL on Saturday, April 25.
Skip is President and supervisor of the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home in Ambler. He is a second generation funeral director whose business started in Philadelphia and moved to Ambler in 1964. Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of funeral directors in 1981, Skip is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the PA Funeral Director’s Association, a past president of the Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association, and a member of the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR).
Skip joined the Wissahickon Fire Company in Ambler in 1975 and has served as Fire Chief and a firefighting officer since 1980. He has served as Treasurer, Chairman of the Trustees and served on numerous committees. He was recently joined by his youngest son Andrew as a Firefighter. He is a member of the International Fire Chief’s Association, was Vice President, and serves on the Standardization Committee of the Montgomery County Fire Chiefs Association.
