WILLIAM BROCK JR. INSTALLED AS OGR PRESIDENT
AUSTIN, TEXAS, APRIL 28, 2015 –The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), the world’s leading professional association dedicated to making independent funeral homes exceptional, installed William Brock, Jr., Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff, Wyckoff, NJ as 2015-2016 president. He was sworn in during the OGR 2015 Annual Conference and Supplier Showcase at the Marriott World Center in Orlando, FL on Saturday, April 25.
“Through his many years of dedicated and active involvement in OGR and his community, Bill has always done whatever it takes to serve his association constituents in a way that uniquely benefits them,” said outgoing OGR president, Bud Wieting. He continued, “Bill is looking to the future of funeral service and his dedication to his profession and his families will lead the association and its members to achieve greater success.”
“It is with great honor and privilege that I take the position of OGR President. I have been actively involved with our association for over 40 years and welcome this opportunity to lead us to better service to both our colleagues and our families in their time of need. There is a great benefit for us when we serve others and adhere to the values set forth by those professionals who have come before us,” Brock said.
Bill received OGR’s 2010 Golden Light Award, which recognizes an individual who has made specific, meritorious contributions to society through his or her profession, community or field of voluntary service as career achievements, is a member of the N.J. State Funeral Directors Association, the Bergen County Funeral Directors Association and also serves as its Past President. Bill was Cum laude graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service and received his Certified Funeral Service Practitioner designation in 1991. He and his wife Linda have three children.
