WEYMOUTH FUNERAL HOME RECEIVES OGR EXEMPLARY SERVICE AWARD
Austin, Texas, April 16, 2018 – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) presented the Exemplary Service Award to Weymouth Funeral Home of Newport News, VA at OGR’s 2018 Annual Conference and Solution Center in Savannah, GA on April 6. OGR’s Exemplary Service Award recognizes member firms for the outstanding customer service they provided to families during their time of loss.
Exemplary Service Awards recognize professional excellence as demonstrated through comments from client families served who respond to OGR’s Family Contact Program surveys. One family Weymouth Funeral Home helped shared the following:
“The picture of our mother taking her last breath at the hospital was brutal, and we had not realized that we would have to identify the body before the cremation. We did not know how we were going to manage seeing her like that again, and this made us panic. My brother offered to go identify the body. A few minutes later, he returned to the waiting area with tears of joy. He suggested that my husband and I go in and view her to say goodbye. The staff at Weymouth’s went the extra mile to comb our mom’s hair, put a touch of make-up on her, and cover her with a beautiful quilt. They gave her the dignity and respect she deserved even though they were going to cremate her. She truly looked like she was at peace. It was a huge comfort to us having this as our last vision of our beautiful mother.”
“The service that Weymouth Funeral Home provided is just one example of why they received an Exemplary Service Award. We are proud that our member firms practice the basis on which we were founded, The Golden Rule,” said OGR Immediate Past President Charles Castiglia.
