OGR’S ADDS ADDITIONAL PRIZE TO AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

JANUARY 2019– AUSTIN, TEXAS – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), the world’s leading professional association dedicated to serving the professional needs of independent funeral homes, is pleased to announce that the OGR Foundation has added an additional bronze scholarship level and is accepting applications through March 1.

The OGR Foundation will now award three  scholarships, one for $3,500 , one for $2,000 and another for $1,000 in 2019. Scholarships are awarded on merit and will be presented at OGR’s 2019 Annual Conference & Solution Center in Williamsburg, VA on April 26, 2019.

The Awards of Excellence Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students based on strong academic performance, funeral service experience, and the strength of their essays.  Applicants will have the opportunity to be listed in the OGR job bank as a benefit.

To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled in a mortuary science degree program at an accredited mortuary school, be scheduled to graduate during 2019, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and commit to working for an independently owned funeral home.
