OGR WELCOMES NANCY WEIL AS NEW
MEMBER RESOURCES DIRECTOR

AUGUST 27, 2018 - AUSTIN, TEXAS – OGR, the premier association for independent funeral homes that have pledged to adhere to “Golden Rule” ethical standards, has named Nancy Weil as its new Member Resources Director.

“Drawing upon Nancy’s expertise in areas including grief support, community outreach and celebrant practices, OGR will soon introduce new one-of-a-kind programs to help independent funeral homes serve a broader base of community members and attract new customers,” said Mark Allen, OGR Executive Director and CEO.  He added, “She has the knowledge and ability to help OGR members serve families in contemporary ways that are meaningful to them.”

Nancy began her career working at Mount Calvary Cemetery and the Catholic Diocese Cemeteries in Buffalo, NY where she worked with both families and funeral directors to create a dynamic grief support program. In her recent move to St. Petersburg, Florida, Nancy took on the role of Community Outreach and Marketing Director for Veterans Funeral Care. She continued her grief support work, as well as selling pre-need funeral arrangements.

Nancy has a degree in Business Management and Economics, and has experience in both for-profit and non-profit industries. As founder of The Laugh Academy, Nancy has spoken to thousands of people teaching them how to stress less and laugh more. She is the author of the book, If Stress Doesn’t Kill you, Your Family Might. For over ten years, she has written a monthly column for Funeral Home and Cemetery News.

Nancy’s professional certifications include Laughter Leader, Grief Management Specialist, Grief Services Provider, Soul Injury Ambassador and Funeral Celebrant. Each has given her industry insights which will help grow the resources available to current and new OGR members.

“I’ve seen the amazing service that local funeral and cemetery professionals do for families. Now I’m very excited about contributing to their success at an international level,” said Nancy.
