austin, texas, APRIL 26, 2017 – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) presented the Exemplary Service Award to Cassaday-Turkle Christian Funeral Home in Alliance, OH at OGR’s 2017 Annual Conference and Supplier Showcase in New Orleans, LA on April 21. OGR’s Exemplary Service Award recognizes member firms for the outstanding customer service they provided to families during their time of loss.

Exemplary Service Awards recognize professional excellence as demonstrated through comments from client families served who respond to OGR’s Family Contact Program surveys. One family whom Cassaday-Turkle Christian Funeral Home helped shared the following:

“Our grandson has always liked this particular funeral home because they had root beer barrels in their candy dishes. We share this because as a small child, he told another funeral director that he needed to get root beer barrels like John Christian. Sure enough, the candy dishes were full of root beer barrels when we arrived for the funeral service. Back in 1987 when our three children lost their first grandparent, John took them aside and talked to them about their loss. They still remember how John also helped them cope with their grief as they dealt with the loss of their last grandparent. The special attention given to the family of the deceased is what sets Cassaday-Turkle Christian Funeral Home apart from the other funeral homes in our area.”

“The service that Cassaday-Turkle Christian Funeral Home provided is just one example of why they received an Exemplary Service Award. We are proud that our member firms practice the basis on which we were founded, The Golden Rule,” said OGR Immediate Past President Peter “Skip” Urban.
